West Branch Receives Ohio Career Technical Education Equipment Grant
West Branch Local Schools has received a $300,000+ grant from the state of Ohio for the construction of a live animal barn while also developing a drone program and distance learning cooperative with United Local Schools.
United and West Branch filed for the grant cooperatively to help expand both schools' agricultural vocational pathways. West Branch will use the grant to construct and maintain a live animal barn with pastures on campus where their agricultural vocation tech students can raise quality raised beef for their food serve department. The school also plans to add a drone technology program to be used in its ag department, but will look to expand opportunities for students by developing a drone program.
West Branch and United are also looking into distance learning opportunities between the two agricultural programs.
