West Branch Middle School Welcomes Motivational Speaker Jim Basketball Jones
The West Branch Middle School welcomed Jim Basketball Jones to campus on Friday, November 17th. Jones spoke about what it takes to be good person and student, while demonstrating entertaining basketball skills and stunts. Basketball Jones used audience interaction to help students understand the points he was trying to make, such as the importance of patient listening. He also discussed why we should always look for the good in others and treat people on the same level along with many other life skills.
Jones is one of the country’s top basketball handlers and highly demanded motivational speakers. His motivational talks are animated and story-based. He explains his “Three Pointers for Life” to students and his inspirational story as an LD (learning disability) student. Struggling with Dyslexia, Jim spent his first five years of school in “special” classes. He was finally mainstreamed in the sixth grade but continued to receive extensive tutoring. He had to learn the hard way how to get things done, through hard work and determination.
