West Branch 7th Grade Basketball Travels to Youngstown to Play Potential Development Pirates
The West Branch 7th grade boys basketball team traveled to the Boys and Girls Club in Youngstown on Saturday for a game with the Potential Development Pirates. The game was a great opportunity for both teams to compete and represent their schools and communities. Both fan bases packed the gym and left standing room only! The support for the game was incredible! After four quarters of intense competition, the Pirates were able to walk away with a 65-46 victory over the Warriors.
Potential Development is a specialized school for students with Autism. They have done an amazing job of launching and supporting extracurricular activities and sports such as basketball, track and field, bowling and more. The students at PD are receiving many of the same opportunities as the other schools in the area, truly emphasizing inclusion with their student athletes.
A special thank you is in order for the folks on both sides that made this happen to include Debra Goshorn, Jodi Harmon and all the Potential Development crew, and AD Mike Helm, Ryan Wolf, Coaches Chad Campbell and Jon Cosma on the West Branch side. Incredible event that would not have been possible without your efforts. Also, a big thank you to Christopher Thomas for arranging the game between the two schools. Thank you!
