8th Grade Science Classes Build Rollercoasters Using Newton's Laws

The 8th grade science classes competed in a rollercoaster competition.  The goal of the competition is to create a marble roller coaster that has the LONGEST TIME due to using Newton's laws. The teams are also rated on best themed rollercoasters. Once top times are figured, those teams will go into a grade level competition to see who in the 8th grade has created the longest coaster. They work in groups of 4 to complete their coasters and are given 10 days for construction. They are also only given a limited amount of resources that they are able to use in construction which consists of only cardstock for the overall coaster tracks.
