Exciting Additions at West Branch Local Schools
Over the summer our staff was hard at work to provide new opportunities for students this coming year along with upgrades to the buildings. Below you will find a list of just some of the exciting new opportunities and upgrades at West Branch Local Schools.
1) New Chiller and Ice Storage Tanks at Middle School
2) Security Film has been added on all doors and windows of all entrances and offices at all buildings. This security film provides a shatter proof barrier against external threats. Safety Grant funding was secured in order to cover the costs. The District is continuing to look for additional funding sources to provide additional security film as well as other security measures.
3) Innovation Lab at WBHS. Students in Mrs. Bock's class will be running their own business creating items for sale. The lab has a Vinyl Printer (banners), CNC Router, Heat Press, Direct to Film Printer, and Laser Engraver. You may have already seen some of the banners that Mrs. Bock created at the football stadium.
4) AV Rover Broadcasting Cart. As part of an independent study opportunity for high school students, the cart will help provide opportunities for students to learn about broadcasting both live and recorded events. Combined with Adobe Creative Cloud, students will have the ability to produce and create content not seen here at West Branch before.
5) Industrial Maintenance Additions: New Robotic Components (Chief and a Fanuc Robot Learning Station) and additional Supply Chain Automation System to provide additional Industry Recognized Credentials
6) Woodshop Addition. 2,000 square foot addition to the woodshop will give the students the ability to expand what they can do as part of our woodshop program.
7) Multiple HVAC upgrades throughout the district in preparation for chiller and ice storage systems at other buildings. The installation of these systems will not take place until cooling season is over.
