Engineering 3-4 Class Designs Truss Systems
The Engineering 3-4 classes developed a truss analysis presentation using Google Slides. The project was designed to enhance their own understanding while also serving as an instructional resource for future students studying structural engineering concepts.
Throughout the project, students reviewed and applied key principles, including trigonometry, the calculation of moments, and the analysis of forces such as tension and compression. Additional topics included static stability, roller and pinned joints, and the determination of reaction forces in specified directions (RAy, RCy, and RAx). The class also utilized equilibrium equations and constructed free-body diagrams to support their analysis of truss systems.
After the presentation the class designed a fink truss on Fusion 360 and then created the truss in the woodshop.
