Ella Means Wins 4-5th Grade Spelling Bee

In grades 4–5, 24 students once again competed in the spelling bee, and it was a great contest. The final two spellers went back and forth for what felt like forever. Fourth-grader Ella Means and Jordan Mathies kept spelling word after word correctly, making it anyone’s game.

It finally ended when Mathies missed “Frankenstein.” That gave Ella her chance, and she calmly spelled “etcetera” and “archipelago” to win the grades 4–5 spelling bee. Jordan Mathies finished in second place.
