22+

West Branch Local Schools in Beloit, Ohio has teamed up with Ohio Department of Education to offer adult learners a great way to earn their high school diploma.

The 22+ Adult HSD Program helps adults earn a high school diploma. The program is free to adults who are over 22 years old, living in Ohio and do not have a diploma or a GED.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • 22 years of age or older
  • Live in Ohio
  • No Diploma
  • No GED

To Apply

  1. Download and complete 22+ Application (WB 22+ Application PDF*)

  2. Download and complete the Transcript Request (Transcript Request PDF*)

  3. Email or Drop off your completed documents (22+ plus and Transcript Request) at West Branch High School (before contacting Mrs. Stitle)

  4. Contact jana.stitle@wbwarriors.org or phone number (330)938-2183 Ext. 37323 to set up a phone conference

  5. If Mrs. Stitle finds that you are a good candidate for our 22+ program, she will email the student and Mr. Deshields in order to set up an orientation time.

  6. The orientation will take half an hour to an hour. You will get your pacing map, your login info, and overview of the WB 22+ Student Handbook (don't print this out) (we will have a copy for you)

*Paper copies of the forms are available from the High School from 8:00 a.m.- 2:00 p.m. each school day.


FAQ

Q: Who qualifies for this program?
A: Individuals who are 22 years old or older + Live in Ohio + Never earned a HS Diploma + Never earned a GED

Q: Is there a cost for taking 22+ via West Branch Local Schools?
A: The answer is N0. Ohio Department of Education funds this program. There is no cost to the adult student

Q: Will I receive a GED or diploma?
A: You will receive a diploma distributed from the school district you live in (once we provide them with your completed transcript)

Q: Do I have to come into the lab?
A: No. You will have an orientation. If you need help, you will call the Warrior Academy during the West Branch HS hours to get help.

Q: What state tests do I have to take?
A: State tests were only required after a certain date. Your transcripts will help us determine if you have to take any state tests.

Q: Do I have to come into the lab for state tests?
A: You will need to come in (by appointment based on the state testing window)

Q: What do I need to enroll?
A: A form of identification (driver's license), proof of residence (bill or something similar with your name and address to verify you are an Ohio resident, and a birth certificate.

Q: Will I need my own computer?
A: Yes. You will need a Desktop or Laptop or Chromebook. Tablets will not work and phones will not work. You can, however, use Windows Operating systems or Mac OS X operating systems.

Q: When can I work on my courses?
A: Anytime. You have access all the time. You MUST follow a certain pace in order to remain in the program. If you continue to fail to follow the pace we laid out for you, you will be removed from the program.

Q: Am I required to put in a certain amount of hours a week?
A: No, but you will have to make sure you stay on pace to reach 60% of finished courses in the first year.

Q: How long do I have to complete my courses?
A: 2 years to complete all state tests and courses. However students must complete 60% of classes after year 1 to be considered for year 2
