Why This Matters for West Branch—and Public Education:
For West Branch, HB 335 would result in the loss of roughly $2 million annually, which is approximately 10% of our general fund operating budget. A sudden and unexpected loss of this magnitude of funding would force unimaginably deep cuts to staffing, academic programming, and
student services, effective immediately.
Rather than investing in Ohio’s students and schools, this bill shifts financial responsibility onto local communities—compelling districts like ours to ask voters repeatedly for levies just to maintain basic services.
