Middle School Student Wins Regional Spelling Bee Macey

Congratulations to eighth grade student, Macey Stancato for placing first place at The Vindicator 84th Regional Spelling Bee by spelling "sarcoidosis" correctly.

She will now have the opportunity to compete at the Scripps National Spelling Bee in Washington, DC.

Momentum Award

 

 

The Ohio Department of Education recognized West Branch Middle School with the Momentum Award for high performance on the State Report Card for exceeding expectations in the area of Growth for the year.  West Branch Middle School received all As on all Value-Added measures on the 2015-2016 School Report Card including; all students, gifted students, lowest 20% students, and students with disabilities.

 

The Teachers are to be commended for delivering outstanding instruction to students to enable the growth to occur.  Students are to be commended for working very hard by giving their best EFFORTS each day in the classroom.

 

This honorable award was only issued to 4 public school buildings out of more than 50 school buildings in Mahoning County.
