One Call 05-25-17

Right to Read Week has been a success and as it comes to a close tomorrow, we will not be able to go outside as originally planned due to the weather.  We will be showing the movie, Pirates of the Caribbean, to each grade level.  Should you not want your child to view this movie, please send in a note with your student tomorrow morning, or call the school attendance line prior to 8:00 AM.

We wish our State Power of the Pen participants good luck tomorrow as they participate at Wooster College for competition.  Participants are Macie Stancato, Alexis Faudree, and Glorianna Maendel.

We also wish Macie Stancato the best of success as she travels to Washington DC to participate in the National Spelling Bee next week.  Macie has been interviewed by Channel 21 out of Youngstown and will be on the Sunday morning news.

West Branch Launches Mobile App

Screen Shot 2017-04-17 at 8.03.52 AM.png

In an effort to improve communication the West Branch Local School District is providing parents, students and community members with a new way to stay connected with the schools. The district launched a free mobile app on April 27, 2017. This app allows users to receive customizable school news, school building and district calendars, push notifications, texts messages and more - all directly on their smartphone and mobile devices.

The “West Branch Local School District” app is available for download for iPhone and Android users in the App Store, and the online iTunes and Google Play app stores.  Parents are not required to download the app to continue to receive school communications, but app users have access to a number of tools that will make those communications more convenient.

Designed to make it more convenient and easier than ever for parents and families to stay informed the mobile app offers a regularly updated feed of important school news and events.  Users can customize the app by selecting the schools they are most interested i for news and updates. Users can also choose to receive push notifications to quickly get news and updates about school closures and emergencies, events and more.

It is our belief that our students are more successful in school when parents are engaged in their learning and school activities. With our new mobile app, individuals can stay connected with our schools and with the activities our students are engaged in every day.
