Meet Mrs. Miller
After 36.5 years of teaching, I have decided to retire at the end of this school year. I have enjoyed all the different grades and subjects that I have taught during this time, but I am looking forward to sleeping in and doing what I want each day! I know I will find areas I enjoy to volunteer my time. Friends who have retired tell me they don't know how they found time to work, they are so busy now! I look forward to that!
This is my 36th year of teaching. Wow! The time surely has flown! I started in 1977 in January teaching music at the West Branch Junior High for Mrs. Schoeni when she was on maternity leave. Then I moved to Maple Ridge where I taught second grade for five years and then moved to first grade for the next ten. After that I moved around the primary grades teaching third grade and several split grade classes. About twelve years ago I was moved to fourth grade and two years ago started teaching fourth and fifth grade Math. This year I am teaching three classes of fifth grade Math and one class of Social Studies.
My family is very important to me. I have a husband, Larry, and we have been married for 31 years. My daughter, Taryn, is 26, and my son, Logan, is 24. You may remember him as the Warrior Chief a few years back. My husband and I, as well as our children, are all West Branch graduates and are big supporters of the fine arts department as well as athletics. Basketball is my favorite sport to watch! My mother has been the scorekeeper for the varsity girls and boys for over 25 years and was inducted into the West Branch Hall of Fame last year for all the time she has volunteered to the the basketball program over the years. So as you can see, not only do I teach here, I live in the district and bleed green!!!
