Daily Behavior

Classroom Behavior Management System

    To increase appropriate behavior in the classroom, a class-wide behavior management program is designed for the students.  I use the “clip up” behavior chart system. This is similar to the “traffic light” system, but involves additional colors.  These colors allow for the students to learn to self-monitor their behavior.  There are chances for students to change their behavior before reaching the lower level of the behavior chart. There are also chances for positive behavior to be rewarded throughout the day.

Classroom Chart:

Pink=Outstanding Behavior

Purple = Great Behavior

Blue= Good Behavior

Green = Ready to Learn

Yellow=Make Better Choices

Orange= Warning Before Contact Home

*Teacher’s Choice for Consequence

Red=Inappropriate Behavior Persists

*Contact Home

Daily Positive Behavior Stars

They may also receive stars on the Behavior Reward Chart (SAMPLE 2) for the specific color they earned that day.  Each positive color is worth an amount of starts.

  • Green=1 star

  • Blue=2 stars

  • Purple=3 stars

  • Pink=4 stars

When they have filled their chart with stars, they may choose from a special reward! The child may use the ticket at any time during the school year ? This includes the following rewards:

  • No shoes in class!

  • Bring your favorite book to class!

  • Pick a buddy to sit with at lunch!

  • Trade seats with a friend for a day!

  • Wear a cool hat!

  • Pick anywhere in line to stand (except line leader)

  • Bring a small stuffed animal to school

  • Use fun supplies to complete daily work

*I will write on their calendar what ticket they picked ? They may choose to use their  ticket at any time throughout the year.

Reaching The Hall of Fame

If your child’s earns another “clip up” past the color pink, they may earn a jewel on their clip. They may retire their clip to the Hall of Fame after 4 jewels. They may also pick  from the treasure chest!
