Below, you will find answers to the most commonly asked questions about our preschool program. If you have any other questions not answered on this page, please call Miss Krupko, the preschool coordinator, at 330-938-4366. She will be happy to answer any other questions you may have.

When should I send in my child's application about preschool? How does my child qualify for preschool?

Preschool applications are accepted from September 1 to March 30 of the current school year for the next school year. To qualify for preschool, your
child (and the custodial parent) must live in West Branch district and he/she must be 3 or 4 by September 30 of that school year. Students who are
5 or are not yet 3 before September 30 are not elligible for WB preschool.

How do I send in my application?

To send your application, either mail it to 14409 Beloit Snodes Rd. Beloit, OH 44609 with Attention to Miss Krupko. You may also hand deliver it to
the middle school front office.

When will I receive a call about my child's preschool application?

Once your application has been received, you will be called by Miss Krupko within a week.

How does my child get into preschool?

To get into preschool, you and your child must attend one of the spring screening dates in May (usually the first and last Fridays). Results of the
screening will be the deciding factor in your child getting into preschool.

When will I get a phone call about spring screening?

The preschool staff will begin making phone calls in March to schedule for the May screening dates and times.

What do I need to bring with me to preschool screening day and what will happen on that day?

On preschool screening day, you will need to arrive 5-10 minutes early. You will be completing forms and registration while the preschool staff
works with your child and about 10-12 others. The classroom teachers and other specialized staff will gather the kids and take them to one of the
preschool classrooms to check their pre-reading, pre-math, speech and pre-writing skills. The screening will take about 45 minutes. During that
time, you will be completing a questionnaire to give to the remaining preschool staff as well as completing registration. For registration, you will
need to have the following items: your child's birth certificate, your child's social security card, your child's immunization records, any custody
papers, proof of residency and your driver's license.

What forms are required for preschool and why?

The state of Ohio requires many forms for preschool several of which are different from school age paperwork. EACH YEAR you will have to
complete and turn in the following forms (all of these forms are also listed under the forms tab of the left hand side): dental signature, doctor
signature, media release form, emergency medical form, and enrollment information form. Your child's EMERGENCY MEDICAL form
must be completed and in hand by the FIRST day of school or he/she cannot attend until it is completed. The DENTAL and DOCTOR signatures
must be on hand by the END OF OCTOBER or your child cannot attend until they are completed.

Can the staff at WB preschool give medications at school?

Yes, the preschool staff can give emergency medications like inhalers and epi-pens. We would need the right form filled out (see the
forms tab) and an extra inhaler or epi-pen for school. We cannot give day to day medications like aspirin or cough syrup. Please do not
send these medicines to school.

What type of training does the staff have?

All of the staff are trained in CPR, First-Aid, Communicable Disease Recognition and Child Abuse Recognition. There is also a full time
nurse on staff at the middle school.

How do I call my child off from school? How many days can my child miss school?

Menegay 330-938-4364, Mrs. Barkee 330-938-4360) to let her know.If your child misses 6 or more days without a call off, he/she will be
