Students will describe how a cooling system works in a small engine.

 

Students will explain what Model #, Code #, and Type # mean on an engine. 

The teacher will use the whiteboard to give notes.  Students will copy notes and listen to explanations given. 

Students will then complete a worksheet, figuring out what Model #, Code #, and Type # mean on an engine. 

Students will turn in their completed Engine Model # worksheet.

 

 

 

Tuesday

 

 

 

Students will partially disassemble a small engine, identify the parts, and reassemble the engine.

The teacher will pass back the Model # worksheet and the quizzes.  The class will review both of these papers and discuss key information covered so far in the small engine unit.

Students will identify different types of pistons and piston rings found in small gas engines.

The teacher will use a Powerpoint presentation and many pictures to give notes about the different types of pistons and piston rings used in small gas engines.  Students will take notes and will complete a lab about piston rings.

Students will turn in their lab for participation points.

Students will research careers available in the field of small gas engines.

Students will be assigned one career that relates to small gas engines.  They will research specific information about that career and will make a Powerpoint to present their information.

Powerpoint presentations will be turned in at the end of class.
