I am so excited to be your science teacher this year. I have a lot that I want to share with you throughout the year and I would like to start by letting you learn a little bit about me. I am entering my eighteenth year of teaching in the West Branch School District. I am a true Warrior at heart as I graduated from WBHS in 1987. After high school graduation, I set my sights on college and enrolled at Youngstown State University. I would spend the next ten years at YSU studying teaching and dabbling in some meteorology courses. In 1997, I proudly graduated with my bachelor's degree in education. I have been married to Frank Edie for twenty-five years and we are the proud parents of 3 beautiful children: Matthew, Kaitlyn and Andrew Edie. Andrew is a sophomore at Youngstown State University where he is pursuing a degree in surgical nursing. Kaitlyn is a senior at Youngstown State University where she is majoring in exercise science in hopes of becoming an occupational therapist. Matthew attended The Ohio State University where he is studied aviation engineering. He is currently a member of the United States Navy where he is training to be a rescue swimmer. People have asked me if I weren't a teacher, what job would I see myself doing. I can honestly say that I love my job and truly couldn't see myself doing anything but teaching. Even though, as many of my former students would tell you, I would love to chase tornadoes at some point in my life! I am looking forward to learning a lot about you this year! I'm sure it is going to be a great year full of learning and fun!
