Meet Mrs. Weaver!
My name is Mrs. Amy Weaver. I began my education at Damascus Elementary (although it was a different building back then) and graduated from West Branch High School in 1999. I then attended Otterbein College for one year before transferring to Kent State University where I received my Bachelor of Science in Education in 2003. In May 2007, I earned my Master's Degree in Reading Specialization from Kent State University. My first teaching job was as a Title 1 teacher at B.L. Miller Elementary in Sebring. During the summer of 2004, I learned that I would be teaching Kindergarten at West Branch and would take over for my very own Kindergarten teacher, Mrs. Bricker, who was retiring. This will be my 15th year of teaching Kindergarten at Damascus Elementary.
I married my husband, Jake Weaver, in May 2005 and we moved into our new house in Deerfield a few weeks later.
We welcomed our son, Kasen, into our family on February 3, 2008.
We welcomed our daughter, Sadie, into our family on January 9, 2012.
Some of my interests include spending time with my family and friends, reading, watching movies and television, gardening and
playing and watching sports. Before my children were born, I enjoyed coaching junior varsity softball for 2 years as well as freshman and
junior varsity volleyball for 8 years at West Branch. Now, I enjoy watching my own children play sports! I like to join in and practice basketball,
soccer, and baseball with my kids and also try to get on the golf course and volleyball court occasionally! This summer we spent a lot of time enjoying our new swimming pool as well!
