In this 7th grade FCS class: students will gain knowledge in food selection criteria, proper techniques in reading a recipe functionally, and apply preparation methods to promote a healthy lifestyle. Students will apply cooking methods, ingredient selection, and apply nutritional information in the context of selected food dishes.  Students will work in small groups to build communication skills as well as team building. Throughout this course, basic food safety and sanitation techniques will be emphasized.
