Welcome to the West Branch Local School District!
From our youngest learners to our oldest, we are committed to providing an excellent educational experience through individualized, creative and enriched learning.
Our focus is on high academic achievement, and personalized measures of success through data driven and focused preparation. We strive for strong instruction, providing opportunities and enhancing our student’s experience in the preparation for their future endeavors.
We work hard to ensure a safe and inclusive learning environment. Using modern, research based instruction that includes technology and other resources, our exceptional staff offer continuing support to match student needs.
Programming is made possible because the district functions on an efficient operational budget. We are committed to strong fiscal management practices, and have taken multiple steps to reduce cost in many areas, while increasing services and staffing in those most needed.
We could not offer the best possible start for our students without the support of the West Branch community. We consider our parents, business leaders and local residents as partners. From parents staying involved through the numerous opportunities to volunteer helping in our schools - these community partnerships complement the work our teachers are doing in the classroom.
Our district is very active on social media, including Twitter and Facebook. Search for our facebook or twitter accounts to join the conversation and learn about great things that are happening in the district every day.

“Making a Positive Difference
One day a man was walking along the beach when he noticed a figure in the distance. As he got closer, he realized the figure was that of a boy picking something up and gently throwing it into the ocean. Approaching the boy, he asked, “What are you doing?”
The youth replied, “Throwing starfish back into the ocean. The sun is up and the tide is going out. If I don’t throw them back, they’ll all die.”
“Son,” the man said, “don’t you realize there are miles and miles of beach and hundreds of starfish? You can’t possibly make a difference!”
After listening politely, the boy bent down, picked up another starfish, and threw it into the surf. Then, smiling at the man, he said
“I made a difference for that one.”
