Superintendent's Message

Superintendent Saxton

Dear West Branch Warrior Community,

I would like to welcome everyone to the website of West Branch Local School District. Parents and community members are encouraged to access it regularly for important updates, information and announcements.  It’s A Great Time to Be A Warrior!

The faculty and staff at West Branch is very excited to work together with the students, parents, and community to maintain a caring and supportive environment and to provide an enriching educational experience for all of the children attending our school district.

We will strive everyday to provide our students with educational and leadership opportunities that will equip them with the knowledge and skills to be successful, contributing adults.

Again, thank you for visiting our website and please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions or concerns at (330) 938-9324 or by email at timothy.saxton@wbwarriors.org.   Please follow me on Twitter @saxton_tim for school related information.

Thank you and

“Making a Positive Difference

One day a man was walking along the beach when he noticed a figure in the distance.  As he got closer, he realized the figure was that of a boy picking something up and gently throwing it into the ocean.  Approaching the boy, he asked, “What are you doing?”

The youth replied, “Throwing starfish back into the ocean.  The sun is up and the tide is going out.  If I don’t throw them back, they’ll all die.”

“Son,” the man said, “don’t you realize there are miles and miles of beach and hundreds of starfish?  You can’t possibly make a difference!”

After listening politely, the boy bent down, picked up another starfish, and threw it into the surf.  Then, smiling at the man, he said

“I made a difference for that one.”
