Knox students in Kindergarten through fourth grade participated in their annual Jump Rope for Heart Fundraiser for the American Heart Association.
Students in grades Kindergarten, first, and second jumped on January 31st and the students in third and fourth jumped on February 1st.
They combined to raise $7,100.00 to help fight heart disease and strokes. The nation's number 1 and 3 killers.
In physical education classes leading up to the event, students worked on jumping rope, learning about life long exercises, the importance of physical fitness and cardiovascular fitness.
The "Jump Rope for Heart" event was a lot of fun and a great success. Special thanks to all the students, teachers, staff and Suzanne Waterbeck, a Kent State student teacher who helped coordinate the event. Also, thank you to all of the volunteers that helped work the event and donated granola bars and Gatorade to the students. Finally, thanks to everyone who contributed to the American Heart Association.
The class that brought in the most donations will receive a pizza party donated by Hungry Howies.
