West Branch District -- 7/10/20

Good Evening Warrior Families.  Preliminary information on the district’s planning for our Reset and Restart for the 20/21 School year has been posted on the district web page and facebook page.  Please take the time to read through the RESET AND RESTART DISTRICT UPDATE.  More information will be available in the next few weeks as we continue to prepare our district reopening plan. I cannot emphasize enough, that this information is in the early stages of development and is subject to change.

It is important to note that our plan is designed to meet the needs of our students and staff with safety being the consistent factor across all decision making.   This school year will be like no other we have experienced, and we will need everyone's patience, understanding and participation in keeping our students safe.  Have a safe and enjoyable weekend.  As always, Go Warriors.

Hello Warrior Nation.  Ohio Governor Mike DeWine has indicated that we will be headed back to school in the Fall. As part of our planning, we would like to hear from parents. A survey has been posted to our district facebook page and can also be found on the district website under the spotlight news section.

Please take a few minutes to give us your thoughts on the reset and restart of our schools within the West Branch District. This survey will be available for parents to complete through June 29th.

Have a great evening, and as always, Go Warriors!

West Branch High School -- 6-5-20

This is Mr. Coffee calling to inform you about an opportunity to take summer school.  Your child has failed a core subject class for either the first or second semester.  Credit can be made up during summer school.  The cost is $75 per .5 credits or $150 per 1 credit class.  The summer school form can be found on the school website or a hard copy can be picked up at the school.  We encourage students to take advantage of Summer School to relieve the stress of taking multiple make-up classes during the school year. Registration and payment are due June 12th from 8:00-12:00 at the High School.  Call the office if you have questions.

West Branch District -- 6-3-20

This is Mr. Saxton, Superintendent of Schools with a few important updates for our families.  First, I would like to congratulate the West Branch High School Graduating Class of 2020. I am sure that you envisioned a different ending to your high school career as we all did, and hope that you find success in your future endeavors. Good Luck!

Secondly, I would like to thank our administrative, teaching and support staff for all they have done throughout the last few months. I would also like to thank our parents, students, and family members for their continued support and patience as we operated without certainty through the COVID-19 closure.

Lastly, if you need to return any items such as textbooks, chromebooks or other school issued items, please do so as soon as possible. If you cannot come in during normal business hours, please contact your school building to make alternative arrangements.

Governor Mike DeWine indicated, just yesterday, that we will be returning to school in the Fall of 2020. As a district, we will be putting together our plan for  reopening on September 9th, and will work to provide our students with a safe, educationally sound re-start for next school year. In the meantime, I would personally like to wish all of our students and families a safe and enjoyable summer.  As always, Go Warriors!

Hello, this is Principal Schlueter calling to remind parents that we will have the Damascus Farewell Parade Tomorrow, Wednesday, May 27 from 6:00 - 8:00 pm in front of the school building. Please turn on to Danbury Drive south of the school, drive down to the end of the cul de sac, turn around and line up on Danbury Drive facing west toward State Route 534. We are doing it this way to keep people from stopping and lining up on State Route 534.

We need to continue to practice social distancing, so please do not exit your vehicle or approach any teachers or staff members. This is an opportunity to see your teachers one last time before the summer, but we must do it in a safe manner.

Superintendent One Call -- 5-21-20

I would like to update parents on a few items of interest.

First, our food service operations during the mandated school closure will change in the upcoming week due to the Memorial Day Holiday.  On Friday 5/22/2020, 4 meals will be available for pick-up at our 3 designated sites between 11:00 a.m. and 12:30 p.m.  There will be no food service pick-up on Tuesday 5/26/2020.   The last pick-up day for this school year will be Friday May 29th, with three meals provided.

Please check our web-site and individual school social media sites for information on chromebook and other related supply drop-off and pick-up dates and times.

Lastly, for 8th grade parents, Main Street Tours, has begun the process of refunding money back to the school district so that we can begin issuing refunds back to you. The tour company is working with its vendors to secure refunds and unfortunately, this has been a slow process. As soon as those refunds come back to the district, the Treasurer’s office will begin the process of issuing refunds back to families.  Thank you for your patience.

Have a great evening - and as always, Go Warriors!
