We have had two confirmed cases of MRSA at Knox Elementary School. All areas of the school have been cleaned and disinfected according to school safety and wellness procedures and CDC recommendations. Here is a link to the CDC’s website: http://www.cdc.gov/mrsa/
There is no need for alarm. We just want to make sure you have the facts. Most staph skin infections, including MRSA, appear as a bump or infected area on the skin that might be: red, swollen, painful, warm to the touch, full of puss or other drainage, accompained by fever.
If you have any questions, please contact Ms. Fitts or Mr. Fowler at Knox.
