Mrs. Scofinsky and Mr. Tucker co-taught a unit on motion to Grade 1 students. The unit combines Math and Science. Students learned principals of motion and distribution. The students initially had one long row of 24 connected scooters. Students discovered that the one long row of 24 could not be moved. The students could be moved in 2 rows of 12 and 4 rows of 6. Every student now knows that 4 sixes and 2 twelves make 24. They also understand the system of pulleys and motion. Students made a hypothesis and performed their lab to experiment with their hypothesis.
