The Mahoning County Department of Job and Family Services will again administer a TANF Summer Youth Employment Program. The program is for youth between 14 to 24 years of age who meet the minimum guidelines. There must be a child in the household under the age of 18 to be TANF eligible, besides the income guidelines.
Applications for the program can be picked up at either the high school or Sebring City Hall. A parent, caretaker or head of household shall apply for the youth unless the youth is 18 years of age or older.
They will be accepting applications only. Eligibility will be determined at a later date. If the youth receives free and/or reduced lunches, a letter from the school must be submitted, this will also qualify the youth for the program. Once the application has been reviewed, you will receive a letter verifying your eligibility in the mail.
Youth will gain valuable work experience, earn a paycheck, develop a work history and have a current reference from an employer.
