Several freshman students also made many achievements during fair week.  Kearstin Rummel entered a horse and rabbits at the fair and had a pen of broilers that stayed home due to the recent outbreak of avian influenza.  She earned two Grand Champion ribbons with her horse and 3rd place with her rabbits.  She created a poster about her poultry that was displayed in the poultry barn in place of her live animals, and was able to sell her broilers for $120 each.  Thomas Kemp showed a dairy steer which he sold for $1,282 and a turkey, which he sold for $160.  Taylor Snyder placed 1st with her Ayrshire summer yearling and earned another blue ribbon in a “Best of Three” Ayrshire class.  Makala Bell was busy with her quarter horse throughout the week. She placed 4th in the Dressage Classic contest, 2nd in the W/T Cross Rails competition, 4th in the contest classic, and earned Grand Champion in the 13-15 cones and barrels competition.

Congratulations to all the West Branch Fair participants!  We are proud of their accomplishments and wish them luck as they prepare for the 2016 Canfield Fair.
